Kalideos Littoral users in the limelight !

Using satellite imagery available through the Kalideos Littoral database, the GEO Transfert scientific experts have developed a whole set of services focusing on coastal areas which they now offer beyond the limits of the Arcachon lagoon.

These efforts resulted in their being praised in the press, as well as on TV, since Virginie Lafon was interviewed during the "Signal de fin - Aquitaine" story of the Thalassa program "Facing the storms", broadcast on April 4 by France 3 and dedicated to climate events which affected French coasts last winter.

F.A.Q.

You will find hereafter a list of questions related to the problems most frequently encountered by the research teams when using the Kalideos databases and the associated answers.

- How can I join the Kalideos programme?
You only need to register by applying for the creation of your user account. Your request will be transferred to the site administrator who will have to validate it. You will then become a member of the Kalideos user community and be granted access to the site private area, including more particularly the data.

- I am a student currently preparing a PhD and I would like to use the Kalideos databases in the frame of my research work. What should I do?
If you are preparing your PhD within a research laboratory, you may be granted an access to the Kalideos databases. You just need to ask for the creation of your account indicating your status; CNES will then ask a certificate from your research manager to confirm you belong to his/her team before allowing you to access to the data.

- I belong to a research laboratory working in partnership with a private consultancy firm or an industrial company. Can I take advantage of the content of the Kalideos databases in this context and how?
The Kalideos databases are reserved exclusively for scientific use. As a member of a research body, you may be granted access to them. However, this is not true for your partners. You will not therefore be allowed to give them the items that you will download from the Kalideos server, but only the derived products that you will get in the frame of your work.
